In theory, practice and theory are the same. In practice, they are not. - Albert Einstein

Invite your friends! Music moves us in profound ways. It evokes reactions and emotions that transcend other forms of communication. If these feelings are real, they deserve study! Music theory is more than a set of rules we use to write music; it's the study of patterns that are already in the music. So, every Tuesday, to further ACWE's mission of "using music for lifelong learning," Robert Laguna leads us through some common practices that we like to call Music Theory. We'll learn about rhythm and meter, as well as pitch, keys, scales and intervals -- and more! These classes, during our regular rehearsal time (Tuesday at 7:30pm), will be held online, and all ACWE members and friends are invited to join. Details about how to connect are sent to the [acwe] mail list weekly. Meanwhile, install the meeting app or plugin, and test your connection by visiting https://zoom.us/test If you have music theory questions you would like Robert to address, please visit https://acwe.org/contact and submit it by using the contact form. Select "Theory questions" as the category. Funded in part through the City of Austin Cultural Art Economic Development fund.
